A Place In The Sun’s Laura Hamilton admits she looked ill at 7st 4lb and got ‘obsessed’ with weight loss after having kids


A PLACE In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has revealed she got “obsessed” with losing weight after having kids.

The 37-year-old TV host has always tried to stay slim for work but became unhealthy when her weight plummeted to 7st 4lb after giving birth to her children Rocco, five, and Tahlia, four.

“Seven months after having Tahlia I lost weight and was the slimmest I’d ever been,” she told New! magazine.

“I got obsessed with it and got down to 7st 4lb, which I don’t think is particularly healthy for me.

“I’ve always been insecure about my legs so it was the one time I felt confident about them.”

Revealing how she lost the weight, she said: “I cut out sugar and carbs and exercised every day for seven months.

“People said how great I looked, which spurred me on.

“But it got to the point where they said I needed to stop because I was looking ill.”

Laura is 5ft 3 in  and now weighs 8st 11lb and wears a size 8 but  wants to “look healthy rather than skinny”.

The TV star is currently filming A Place In The Sun so hasn’t been able to get to the gym.

When she’s working, the mum-of-two uses a skipping rope to exercise when her kids are asleep.

She also does a HIIT workout two or three times a week.

Laura makes lunch her bigger meal and says: “I don’t like to eat a heavy dinner.”
