AJ Pritchard: Strictly star talks suffering with OCD ‘I like to be very much in control’

Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard, 25, has addressed the difficulties he faces with OCD, known as obsessive-compulsive disorder, in a new interview. The professional dancer admitted he likes to be “very much in control” of a situation, after addressing the challenges he has faced with his dancing career.

It comes after AJ and his brother Curtis Pritchard, 24, spoke to FUBAR Radio hosts Bobby Norris and Stephen Leng on Access All Areas about their new tour.

“For me, especially as a producer and an OCD person, I’m really writing it and taking control of everything and placing Curtis in there,” he confessed.

Curtis added: “Yeah but you’re not writing my stuff,” before AJ replied: “No, I can’t write Curtis’ script because Curtis will have a script…

“We’ll do 40 shows and not one show will be the same. He will start in a different place, we’ll be doing a dance and he’s supposed to be over there and he’ll be sat in the front row.”

Elsewhere, AJ is said to have set his sights on Gwrych Castle in Abergele for this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

After leaving Strictly Come Dancing this year, it has been reported he has signed up for the ITV show.

It will be the first year I’m A Celebrity will air in the UK instead of Australia.

An unknown source revealed: “AJ is really excited – he can’t wait to get going and for the show to start.

“It was always his aim to do more TV work after leaving Strictly and there’s no bigger challenge than I’m A Celeb.”

The source then told MailOnline there is a downside for AJ, as he will be apart from his brother Curtis for some time.

They added: “He’s an early riser, into his fitness and a dedicated person – he hopes being part of camp will give viewers the chance to get to know him better.”

ITV have not confirmed the reports and usually keep the line-up under wraps until just before the series begins.
