ARSENAL ace Mesut Ozil has hired guard dogs to protect his home throughout the night after being targeted in a London gang war.

There has been a 24-hour security presence around the German’s house, where two people were arrested last week.

Sunday night saw security guards patrol the area with guard dogs in tow.

They have been installed after Ozil, 30, and Gunners teammate Sead Kolasinac, 26, were targeted by yobs on mopeds last month.

Bosnian international defender Kolasinac heroically fought off the knife-wielding attackers with his bare hands.

Fans who witnessed the dramatic CCTV footage sent in floods of supportive messages but the pair found themselves in the middle of a gang war.

The London mob who attempted to steal their expensive watches in North London are at odds with a rival Eastern European gang, unknown to the footballers, who have vowed to ward off further attacks.

But the moped attackers are refusing to be intimidated and two men were arrested outside Ozil’s £9million Camden home on Thursday under the Public Order Act.

Ferhat Ercan and Salaman Ekinci, both 27, are due to appear in court on September 6.

Ozil hasn’t been since in recent days having gone into hiding.

Death threats have been levelled at the player and wife Amine Gulse, while Kolasinac’s partner Bella has fled the country – vowing never to return.

It meant the Arsenal duo sat out the Emirates Cup fixture with Lyon and Sunday’s league opener away at Newcastle.

The club were forced to admit that security concerns meant they didn’t want to risk taking Ozil and Kolasinac on the road.

The pair are best pals and each married their partners in the summer within days of one another.

They were travelling through North London, near Kolasinac’s Golders Green home, when the moped gang struck.

Ahead of Sunday’s game, Ozil tweeted a message of support for his teammates before their 1-0 win at the Magpies.
