ARSENAL fans are getting more excited about the arrival of Nicolas Pepe after he was spotted at an airport in Miami.
The Frenchman, 24, is expected to make his move from Lille to the North London club this week after the Gunners agreed a £72million fee with the Ligue 1 club.
Pepe has been enjoying a post-season break with his brother in Miami and has not yet been required to report back for training with Lille.
He posted a picture four days ago with relative Kwame Pepe with the blue sea behind.
And a video has since been spotted of the pair at Miami Airport — and fans reckon that they are on a flight to England.
According to reports, Pepe is expected to fly into London and complete his medical this week.
The Ivory Coast international scored 22 goals in the league last season and has been putting his feet up after his country were knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations by Algeria on July 11.
According to Lille news outlet La Voix du Nord, Pepe’s transfer is expected to be confirmed either tomorrow or Wednesday.
FLIGHT OF FANCY
He would also consider a move to PSG but an approach from the Ligue 1 winners is unlikely, given the front three already at their disposal.
Arsenal were without Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac after the pair were victims of a horrifying attack by knife-wielding thugs.
Emery said after the game: “Every player is very important in the team, but also each moment and some circumstances give us a decision between the player and us.
“It’s not a good moment to play because their mind is not now 100 per cent. It’s a very personal circumstance and the most important thing now is that they can feel good, they can feel safe, they can feel calm with their family.
“They came this morning but I spoke to them and decided it was best to continue their resting with their families and wait for a few days to hopefully come and start normally with the team.”
