ARSENAL have been given the green light to sign long-term target Christopher Nkunku, according to reports.
Paris Saint-Germain are willing to let the talented midfielder leave for a fee in the region of £17.2million.
Nkunku heads into the summer with just a year left on his contract as he holds off extending his deal.
The 21-year-old has concerns over a lack of playing time having made 13 league starts this season.
Boss Unai Emery has a strict £40m summer budget and believes Arsenal will have a bargain on their hands if he can push a deal over the line.
The Spaniard remains a huge fan of Nkunku having brought him through the youth ranks during his time in charge of the Paris club.
He wanted to loan him in January but PSG’s reluctance to let him leave meant Arsenal turned their attentions to Barcelona’s Denis Suarez.

Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Nkunku in action this season including in the 4-0 victory over Dijon.
He endured heartbreak on Saturday when he missed the crucial penalty in the French Cup final as PSG crashed to defeat against Rennes.
The Gunners could also turn to Matteo Guendouzi who has played alongside Nkunku in the French youth set-up.
