Last year the Russo Brothers and Avengers Infinity War cast led the Twitter campaign #ThanosDemandsYourSilence over movie spoilers. And boy were there loads in terms of deaths, surprise cameos and that jaw-dropping ending. Now Joe Russo has confirmed that Avengers Endgame has even more spoilers than its predecessor. Speaking with Box Office Pro, the director said: “At a certain point, I’m sure we’ll write another letter this year that asks everyone to stay off the internet.”
Russo was referring to a tweet that featured a picture of the Infinity Gauntlet over a letter asking fans not to spoil Avengers Infinity War for others.
He continued: “I think this one has even more spoilers than the last one.
“This is a culture that wants everything now, and it’s getting worse.
“The world is connected via social media, and information travels within seconds.”
He added: “If you’ve been following along with this narrative for 10 years, you’re going to want to protect yourself. It’s best to go in clean.
“I encourage people to go opening weekend because I’m sure everything is going to hit the internet the moment the movie hits the screen.”
Back in January, Marvel boss Kevin Feige teased: “I think, as was the case with a lot of our films, this one in particular, being able to generate excitement without giving away any of the many, many, many, many secrets – many, many, many secrets! – would be ideal.”
Avengers Endgame is technically the most secretive film ever made.
