Avengers: Endgame promised fans a lot and has delivered on all counts. The fourth instalment of the Avengers films saw fans experience a range of emotions. Between tears, fans were also keeping a keen eye out for their fallen favourites. Warning, major spoilers for Avengers: Endgame below.
Did Korg survive Thanos and the Snap?
Korg fans can breathe easy, the giant rock alien has survived.
Korg (voiced by Thor Ragnarok director Taika Waititi) was revealed to be alive and well, hanging out with Thor and playing Fortnite.
For those who don’t remember, Korg was one of the gladiators forced to battle each other by the cosmic being and ruler of Sakaar, the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) during Thor: Ragnarok.
He speaks politely, with a New Zealand accent, and is known for being upfront about what he’s thinking.
AVENGERS ENDGAME DEATHS: WHO DIED IN AVENGERS ENDGAME? WHO RETURNED?
Fans were unsure of Korg’s fate when the opening commentary of the Avengers: Infinity War DVD gave some grave news.
The director gave the cryptic message: “All I can say is pray for Korg.”
Hope was renewed, however, when a new batch of Twitter emojis for Avengers characters were released.
Korg was amongst them, but so were other presumed missing or dead characters.
AVENGERS ENDGAME SHOCK: NO POST-CREDITS SCENE CONFIRMED
In this cast, optimism paid off and Korg’s cameo brought delight to fans.
Korg is one of many fan favourites to return in Endgame, along with all of the previously snapped Avengers who were resurrected.
Cameos from previous Avengers actors like Robert Redford, a crossover to the Marvel TV shows in Jarvis also delighted fans.
Avengers: Endgame is certainly a movie based in fan service, but also wraps up ten years of storytelling with a neat, emotionally satisfying bow.
