Avengers: Endgame is rolling out across the world this weekend to fans’ delight. There were plenty of emotional moments for fans as Endgame brought the current Avengers saga to a close. And the future looks bright for one character in particular. Warning: major spoilers beyond this point.
Will Falcon take over the mantle of Captain America in his own solo movie?
Given what happened at the end of Avengers: Endgame, it seems likely.
The end of Avengers: Endgame saw Captain America go back in time to return the Infinity Stones to the moment they were taken.
However, When Cap was meant to return to the present day, 2023, he was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, Bucky aka The Winter Soldier and Sam Wilson aka Falcon saw an elderly man sitting on a bench a few feet away.

Falcon, played by Anthony Mackie, approached Captain America where they exchanged a heartfelt conversation.
It turned out Captain America couldn’t resist the chance to live a long life with his true love – Peggy Carter.
He married her, and (according to this theory) blended in perfectly with the already established timeline of Peggy’s life.
Back in the present day, Captain America unzipped a canvas bag containing his vibranium shield.

He handed the shield to Falcon, instructing him to try it on.
When Falcon did, he said it felt like it was somebody else’s, to which Cap said it wasn’t somebody else’s, it was his.
So, what does this moment mean for Falcon’s/Sam Wilson’s future?
Fans are sure it means he’ll take over the mantle of Captain America.
