A 19-YEAR-OLD has been remembered as a “beautiful” mum after she died suddenly – leaving behind a two-year-old son.
Denai McDougall tragically passed away on October 25, just three weeks after her son Kalvin celebrated his birthday.
Friends and family have since paid tribute to the young mum of Dalmuir, north west of Glasgow.
Childhood pal Taylor McGee remembered Denai as a “lovely, kind and outgoing” friend.
Taylor, 20, told the Clydebank Post: “Denai always put her son first before anyone and he absolutely adored her.
“She was well known in Clydebank, Dumbarton and Balloch having lived in Balloch for the last few years.
“She had recently moved back to Dalmuir and was getting on really well and looking forward to finding a job for Christmas, she spent a lot of time with her gran, mum and sisters.”
Another friend wrote on social media: “Heavy heavy hearts today.
“Rest in peace to this beautiful girl, an amazing mum & an amazing friend to lots.
“This world is far too cruel & you won’t ever be forgotten about Denai. Shocked is an understatement. You were and still are sooo loved.”
Robin Kerr, the father of Denai’s little boy, described her as an “angel”.
It is unclear just how the young mother, who would have turned 20 on December 29, died.
A COMMUNITY IN MOURNING
And the community has joined together to raise funds for Denai’s little boy.
The family said some of the funds would also go towards supporting mental health services.
The fundraiser read: “Denai a wonderful mother, daughter, sister and best friend taken from us on Friday 25th October 2019.
“Anyone that knew her knew her to be one of the most vibrant, caring and beautiful souls this earth has ever seen.
“Any form of donation will be truly appreciated and will be used to help with funeral expenses.”
