Resorts World in Birmingham, which is about as far from the sea as you can get in the UK, was the setting for a beach babe showdown.
10 Miss England 2019 Finalists met up at the Midlands resort hotel to battle it out for the title of Miss England Beach Beauty.
It’s one of around a dozen micro-contests that together let contestants collect points towards Thursday’s Grand Final.
There are Beach Beauty, Sports, Beautiful Hair, Catwalk, Fundraising, Miss Eco Ethical Fashion, Public Vote, Talent, Quiz, Bare Face Top Model and TV Presenters rounds.
The winner of the 2019 Beach Beauty round will be provided with a collection of 5 pieces of swimwear by EcoSwim, a new sustainable brand made from ocean waste created by former Miss England Angie Bowness.
The lucky winner will also be invited on an amazing trip to Mauritius, even if they don’t ultimately win Miss England 2019!
The organisers are keen to emphasise the importance of charity work, now a major part of the competition, at Regional Heat level & National Finals.
Over the past few years, the Miss England competition alone has raised in excess of £1m for various childrens charities using the Miss World ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ slogan founded by Julia Morley, now a charity that aims to help disadvantaged children across the World.
Miss England is a regular supporter of Variety Children’s Charity, having raised thousands of pounds at Miss England heats with ‘Miss England’ herself appearing at high profile events, organised by the charity.
The winner of Miss England each year joins Miss Scotland, Miss Wales & Miss Northern Ireland & over 100 contestants from around the world to compete for the Miss World coverted crown with first prize of $100,000.
In 2019 Miss World will be held in Thailand .
