Boozy Brits brave thunderstorms for rain-lashed fancy dress night out

REVELLERS boldly weathered storms as they went out on the lash in Leeds last night.

Brits defied downpours to dress-up in Where’s Wally? and sexy Baywatch-style gear.

One girl used an inflatable as a makeshift rain hat as the Met Office’s yellow warning for rain dumped its load on Yorkshire.

While a Where’s Wally? babe seemed oblivious to the rain as she practised her moves on the pavement.

Another pair were dressed-up in Native American-inspired costumes, with some shelter from an umbrella — not so in keeping with the theme.

Meanwhile, a cowgirl protected her immaculate blonde waves under the brim of a hat.

Further down the road, Grecian goddesses looked out-of-place in the damp English drizzle with sandals offering little splash protection.

But one Grecian had the bright idea of including trainers with his outfit, as well as a fancy blonde wig.

“Schoolgirls” channeling the Clueless look wore pleated skirts and knee-high socks.

Amazingly, beer gardens were still well-populated despite the downpour, with punters making use of golf umbrellas.

And despite the wet weather, many party-goers proved the rain was not enough to dampen their spirits.

The cool air was undoubtably welcome for serious clubbers, after a blast of heat saw temperatures climb to 38C last week — making just the thought of dancing unbearable.

Three more Saharan heatwaves have been predicted to fry Britain before the summer is out.
