The pair made a personal nod to the NHS during the message, after having suffered through coronavirus and shortly after having their first child. Boris Johnson, who has four children from previous relationships, said: “Earlier this year over the course of seven days, I experienced first-hand the courage and dedication of our NHS frontline workers – our doctors and nurses, our porters and pharmacists, our cleaners and clinicians. They have saved the lives of thousands of people across our country.”
Carrie added: “You continue to provide care for all of us in the very toughest of times.
“And it’s because of you that not only Boris is still here, but that we are proud parents to our sweet baby boy.”
The pair even named their son Wilfred after an NHS worker.
A body language expert claimed the couple, who are relatively new to one another, are “still besotted”.
However, she added the footage also belied some strong differences between the couple when it comes to their personalities.

Expert Judi James told Express.co.uk: “Their mirrored bashful, suppressed smiles and rounded, gleaming cheeks suggested Boris and Carrie are still in the besotted stage of their relationship and they clearly share a sense of humour and fun, but apart from that their body language signals define two very contrasting personalities.
“Boris sat splayed with one knee touching Carrie and when he spoke his body bounced as he used the kind of air-punch and very active, emphatic hand gestures that are a feature of his PM’s addresses.”
His wife was less animated, and appeared to show off her £30,000 emerald engagement ring from the Eton-educated PM.
Judi said: “Carrie, however, sat in a self-diminished way with one arm across her body in a self-hug and crossing the other on her legs.
“The pose seemed aimed at avoiding anything tactile with Boris although, like royal engagement poses, her ring finger was fully displayed and featured.”

Judi went on: “Carrie’s voice sounds calmer, softer and more sensible than the PM’s and when she looked at him her brows raised and steepled as she produced a doting, slightly parental-looking smile. Boris ended with a sheepish grin and a boyish thumbs-up to camera and their matching smiles suggested they’d had fun producing this tentative first appearance together.”
The expert hinted the couple could have a second career in television presenting once Boris’ time in office is over.
She said: “This beaming, glowing and strangely bashful first appearance as an on-screen couple looked like a cross between a royal engagement interview and a casting promo for the next pair of presenters on morning TV.
“It was Boris who gave it the sofa chemistry spin with his energetic, bouncy ‘Good evening, it’s Boris and Carrie!’.
James Constantinou, founder of Prestige Pawnbrokers of Channel 4’s Posh Pawn told Express.co.uk: “Boris Johnson’s traditional style is complemented by Carrie Symond’s love of vintage fashion.
“So a valuable antique engagement ring is the perfect match whether an heirloom or one chosen by the pair.”
However, experts have suggested an emerald is a bad stone for an engagement ring like Carrie Symonds.
The green gems are thought to be too soft for everyday wear, making chips and scratches risky.
