“His friend throwing boiling water on him and laughed while my child fought to get his clothes off”
Billy Oliver, 11, had been staying at his mate’s house when it is when he claimed he was attacked at about 2.30am on Tuesday.
He arrived at hospital with severe burns on his neck, back, shoulder and upper arms following the horrific attack at the home in Manchester, Kentucky.
Billy is now recovering at home after being treated for second and third-degree burns at the Cincinnati Burn Center.
His mum, Patricia, alerted others on Facebook to what had happened and shared images of what happened to her son.
She posted: “He went to sleep and woke with his friend throwing boiling water on him laughing while my child fought to get his clothes off.
“People please talk to your children – this is a nightmare. While my child slept he boiled water and poured it on my sleeping baby.”
The deranged prank has been uploaded hundreds of times onto YouTube and involves people pouring boiling water over themselves, prompting warnings from parents.
Daily Star Online has seen many videos still up on YouTube.
Patricia, 42, wrote: “This is a challenge. Talk to your children people, I am living a nightmare and had no idea about this challenge.”
Parents have been warned to stay vigilant over the sick craze that has left numerous children and adults injured.
Earlier this month, a 15-year-old boy from Indiana suffered third-degree burns on his back, beck and chest after another lad poured boiling water on him as he slept.
