Bradley Walsh, 60, was on hand to help another four The Chase contestants work their way through a number of challenges in order to take home a big money prize. However, they would have to defeat The Sinnerman star Paul, 50, first and each player faced the quizmaster to try and add their cash-builder total to the final jackpot. Quizzing amateur Michael seemed to be a very confident opponent for the general knowledge guru but the host ended up telling him to leave the ITV show when he explained he wanted to visit France with his winnings.
The moment came as Michael introduced himself to Bradley ahead of his cash-builder round and he said he wanted to learn more French if he won some cash.
In an unexpected jibe, the host replied: “Well, you need to go to France,” before silence fell in the studio.
With the player thinking it was a joke, he stood defiant in his place, but the presenter continued the joke by telling the player to leave the show “now”.
Michael then looked around, going on to ask the former soap star: “I’ll go shall I?” with the latter dismissing the whole scenario as a light-hearted exchange.
It was then up to the contestant to try and secure the £8,000 he’d managed to accumulate in the cash-builder, which he did so as he defeated Paul.
