People are being urged to avoid the area as police swarm the area and tape off a shop.

Officers have cordoned off a British Heart Foundation shop in the city’s Bull Street.

It is reported there has been a stabbing and that blood can be seen on the floor of the shop.

One local said on Twitter: “Avoid Bull Street in Birmingham at the moment.

“Police called to British Heart Foundation and everything is standstill.

“Unsure what’s happened, but someone is on the floor in the shop and being dealt with by paramedics and police.”
