The teen is thought to have died after going for a morning dip in the pool at a holiday villa on the Spanish island.
She was found at the bottom of the pool by a relative.
A neighbour heard shouting and dialled 999, around 7am this morning.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene and tried to revive her but were unable to save her.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The tragedy happened at a holiday villa in the small town of Alaro at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains.
A source at a regional government-run emergency services coordination centre said the woman was British and the British consulate had been informed.
She was believed to have been staying at the villa with her mum and possibly other relatives.
It is not yet known why she got into difficulties in the water and what could have led to her death.
A routine investigation, coordinated by a local investigating magistrate and led by the police, is underway.
A spokesman for the emergency services coordination centre said: “A woman has died after being rescued from a pool at a house in Alaro.
“Efforts to save her life at the scene were unsuccessful.”
