On Twitter hundreds of frustrated passengers are seen cramped together after a fire alarm.
One wrote: “Over 25 degrees here standing next to children and elderly. People missing flights and staff have no idea what to do.”
Gatwick Airport said: “Our staff are currently investigating a fire alarm.
“Please bear with us while we complete these checks for our passengers safety.”
