BREAKING: Huge fire breaks out at pub with flames seen bursting out of windows


The blaze has erupted at the Lime Tree pub in Paignton, Devon.

Flames can be seen ravaging the upper floors of the building on Dartmouth Road. 

The blaze, which broke out at about 5.45pm, is thought to have started in flats above the pub. 

Its cause is not yet known, with multiple fire engines and crews at the scene currently tackling the fire.

A spokesman for Devon And Somerset Fire And Rescue Service said: “We currently have five appliances there and the aerial ladder platform.

“It is described as a first floor residential building well-alight. It looks as if it is flats above the pub.

“We have four hoses and three safety jets. It looks as if we are going to be increasing the cover to seven pumps shortly.

“The incident was first reported at 5.36pm.”
