The Palace this afternoon announced the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will visit to South Africa at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
But it made no mention of Archie, suggesting the newborn tot won’t be going along with his parents to the continent this autumn.
Yet on the Sussex’s Instagram account, royal officials described the trip as “this will be their first official tour as a family”, suggesting Archie will be going along.
The short visit is reportedly part of a much longer tour of this part of the world the couple will take – with the second part taking place next year.
The Palace said in a statement this afternoon: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will undertake an official visit to South Africa this Autumn at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
“In addition, The Duke of Sussex will visit Angola and Malawi at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
“His Royal Highness will also undertake a working visit to Botswana while in the region.
“Further details will be advised in due course.”
