BREAKING: Police issue urgent appeal to find two babies missing with their parents

Officers in Lancashire say there are “serious concerns” for the welfare of the children aged six and 18 months.

The babies are believed to be with the parents, named as Kayleigh Smart, 33, and Neil Saunders, 34.

Officers say the siblings were last seen at an address in Skelmersdale, Lancs, in the early hours of Wednesday.

They may have travelled to Ireland.

Police say anyone who sees the children, whose parents have links to the Merseyside area as well as Lancs, should urgently call 999.

In a statement Lincs Police said: “While police believe the two children are with their parents, Kayleigh Smart, 33, and Neil Saunders, 34, there are serious concerns for their welfare.

“There is also a suggestion they may have travelled to Ireland.”

In a direct appeal to the parents, detective inspector Steve Monk said: “I would like to stress that our immediate concern is the safety of these two young children and I would urge anyone who sees the parents or who knows where they may be to get in touch.

“Equally I would urge Kayleigh and Neil to get in touch if they see this appeal so that we can establish the children are okay.”
