The 74-year-old says he’s been left waking up at 2am to pluck and trim the hairs[/caption]

Surgeons at Oxford’s Churchill Hospital used tissue from the ex-hairdresser’s arm to rebuild his tongue a year ago after removing a tumour.

But Melvyn, from Headington, Oxon, said: “I’m waking up at 2am and having to trim it.

“They should provide laser treatment, but they said I had to go private, or pluck or trim it.
