Carlo Ancelotti rules Seamus Coleman OUT of Fulham clash with hamstring strain… but Italian confirms star striker Richarlison is ready to return after serving three-match ban

  • Everton will be without their captain for their trip to Craven Cottage on Sunday
  • Seamus Coleman flared up a reoccurring hamstring problem away with Ireland
  • Coleman first suffered the hamstring injury in Everton’s draw against Liverpool
  • However, Yerry Mina, James Rodriguez, Allan and Richarlison will be available

Everton captain Seamus Coleman has been ruled out of Sunday’s trip to Fulham due to his reoccurring hamstring problem.

Coleman – who first suffered the injury in Everton’s draw against Liverpool – returned to the bench while away on international duty with the Republic of Ireland.

The FAI confirmed the news that Coleman had suffered an injury in training on November 12 and would subsequently miss their Nations League fixtures with England and Wales.

Although Coleman will be unavailable for Everton on Saturday, Carlo Ancelotti will have South American contingent.

Yerry Mina, James Rodriguez, Allan and Richarlison are all set to return to Goodison park fit and Covid-free.

Long-term absentee Jean-Philippe Gbamin is also said to be closing in on a return to the squad.

‘We have Seamus Coleman unavailable for this game, but the others are in good condition,’ said the Italian.

‘The players from South America came back yesterday. They were okay, they tested negative. They trained on Friday. It seems they don’t have problems.

‘They are quite fit, a little bit tired from the travel, but we have time to recover until Sunday.’

Ancelotti also had positive news on Gbamin, who has played just 135 minutes in two matches at the start of last season before a thigh injury, numerous set-backs and then an Achilles problem sidelined him.

‘He is in the last part of his recovery and will be ready in two or three weeks to train and play,’ added the Toffees boss.
