Ekaterina Karaglanova, 24, was found naked inside a suitcase in her apartment with her throat slit two days ago.
Police had previously described Ms Karaglanova’s apartment as spotlessly cleaned, with no traces of a struggle.
But, Russian Channel REN TV has obtained CCTV footage showing a man entering her block of flats with his face hidden by a cap.
Four hours later, the same man left the apartment block with a smaller suitcase.
It is believed the man used the suitcase to dispose of her bloodstained clothes and a weapon used to slit her throat and stab her twice.
The man in the footage is seen wearing gloves, despite boiling 27C temperatures outside.
Ms Karaglanova’s parents grew concerned about their daughter after she failed to contact them for several days. The couple contacted the star’s landlord who gave them access to her apartment, where the couple found a suitcase containing her body.
In a bid to save his daughter’s life, her father called an ambulance, but Ms Karaglanova was pronounced dead at the scene – with lacerations to her throat.
Police have said there was no evidence of a struggle at the scene and are investigating jealousy as a possible motive.
According to police, CCTV footage captured her ex-boyfriend visiting the property in the days surrounding her disappearance, but did not confirm or deny whether his presence was being investigated.
Russian Instagram star Ms Karaglanova had amassed 85,000 followers on Instagram, and ran a popular travel blog detailing lavish trips across Europe.
The talented woman had recently graduated as a doctor, securing a residency at a medical school in Moscow specialising in dermatology.
Ms Karaglanova had recently began a new relationship and had planned a holiday to The Netherlands to celebrate.
In her final post, Ms Karaglanova posted a picture of her on the Greek island of Corfu and wrote about her desire to travel often.
Fans had likened her appearance to film icon Audrey Hepburn, and regularly kept up with the brown haired beauty’s plans.
In a cryptic post from March, she wrote about her plans to redecorate her flat and “another important activity I’m thinking about, which I’m not going to take about for now.”
