CESAR AZPILICUETA claims he would crashed into a wall if the photograph had not stopped him after a shoulder barge from Romelu Lukaku.
The Manchester United forward sent the Chelsea star careering off the pitch during the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The 5’10 defender attempted to win the ball back from the big Belgian as he raced into Chelsea’s half.
Lukaku’s superior strength sent Azpilicueta flying towards the fence in front the Stretford End supporters.
He smashed into the club’s official photographer of 25 years before he climbed back to his feet and played on.
Speaking after the game, the 29-year-old revealed that it could have been much worse if the snapper was not in his seat.
‘IT’S A FIGHT’
When asked about the incident, he told the Metro: “I was okay, maybe I was lucky I had the photographer just in front of me. I was going straight to the wall.
“It’s a fight, it’s a fight, we knew they are a very physical team.
“Physicality is part of football, the battles, I’m happy for it.”
The match finished 1-1 after a mistake from David De Gea allowed Marco Alonso to snatch a point for Chelsea.
But Azpilicueta was impressed with Chelsea’s response after Juan Mata broke the deadlock after just 11 minutes.
He said: “I think in the first half we didn’t start well. We conceded that early goal and it put us in difficulty.

“But the team stayed in the game, I thought it was important not to concede quick goals like we did against Liverpool.
“We had a good first half but in the second half straight away we conceded two goals in two minutes, so obviously the game was more difficult.
“Today, okay we conceded that goal but after that the team stayed in the game, we scored that goal before half-time which was very important.”
