CHELSEA have revealed Maurizio Sarri blew his top during a Europa League final training session due to being unable to practice set pieces.
The Blues boss stunned onlookers and fans as he tossed his baseball cap at the ground in frustration on Tuesday.
Fans and media widely assumed the 60-year-old was fuming at David Luiz and Gonzalo Higuain for kicking out at each other in training.
But a Chelsea spokesperson later revealed it was due to the presence of the media.
He had assumed the players would be able to practice set pieces — and indeed penalties — for the last 15 minutes of training ahead of their showpiece clash with Arsenal.
But with journalists and cameramen at close hand, Sarri was not able to prepare any surprise set plays.
Chelsea travelled out to Baku after Arsenal, having completed a training session in Cobham on Monday.
Earlier in Tuesday’s training session, Higuain had gone in late on Luiz – with the pair going their separate ways, before storming back towards each other to exchange words.
All does not seem at ease at Chelsea, but they have the chance to round their season off with the trophy they last won under Rafa Benitez in 2013.
Arsenal in fact need to win the game more than their London rivals, with Champions League qualification on the line.
Meanwhile it has emerged that Chelsea have agreed a £115million fee with Real Madrid for star man Eden Hazard, with the Belgian set to sign a £400,000-a-week deal at the Bernabeu.
