Cops hunt on-the-run gunman after 22-year-old is shot in latest bloodshed on London’s streets

COPS are hunting a gunman on the loose in London after a 22-year-old was shot in the latest act of bloodshed to hit the capital.

Officers raced to Walthamstow, east London in the early hours of this morning to reports of a man suffering gunshots wounds.

The Metropolitan Police said paramedics from the London Ambulance Service attended the scene and took the victim to hospital for treatment.

His condition was not life threatening but authorities informed his family about the incident.

Detectives are now appealing for information to help track down the shooter.

No arrests have yet been made.

A statement from the Met said: “Police were called at approximately 02:50hrs on Sunday, 31 March to Penrhyn Avenue, E17 to reports of a man suffering a gunshot injury.

The investigation is being led by detectives from the Trident and Area Crime Command.
