Coronation Street spoilers: Dev Alahan worried as daughter Asha hides secret phone and misses important exam

THERE are teenage troubles on the horizon for Dev Alahan in Coronation Street next week as his daughter Asha starts exhibiting some worrying behaviour.

The shopkeeper is horrified when he gets a call from the twins’ school, saying that Asha – played by Tanisha Gorey in the ITV soap – missed her exam.

When twin brother Aadi reveals to Dev that Asha spends more time on Snapchat than she does revising, he angrily confronts her and ends up confiscating her phone.

But after Dev – played by Jimmi Harkishin – has left her alone, Asha sneakily takes a spare phone out of her pocket. What is she up to?

Has it got anything to do with someone called Corey, a boy from school who Asha has a crush on?

Aware of Asha’s feelings, Amy Barlow decides to set them up on a date.

Dev doesn’t know what’s going on with his daughter

But when she and Asha meet up with Corey at Speed Dahl, it becomes clear that he only has eyes for Amy.

As Amy heads off, planning on leaving Asha and Corey alone, he quickly follows after her, leaving Asha gutted.

She’s put out even more when she spots Amy and Summer giggling together over something on Amy’s phone. Convinced they’re laughing about her, she heads off in tears.

Poor Asha is so upset that she ends up missing her exam.

She finally breaks down and confesses to Summer that her date with Corey was a disaster and he obviously fancies Amy.

Seeing Asha in such a state and aware that she missed an important exam, Summer begins to worry about her friend. What’s going on with Asha?

It was revealed earlier this month that actor Jimmi would be written out of the soap for two months to allow him to make the trip of a lifetime to Japan and China.

Jimmi has played shopkeeper Dev for 20 years and is celebrating the milestone with the trip.

Speaking to the Messenger Newspaper, he said: “This is actually my 20th year at Corrie.

“My first appearance was on November 10, 1999, and I have loved every minute of it. I’ve been here that long that I am now an honorary Mancunian!

“Corrie bosses have very kindly let me have time off for two months to celebrate my 20th year, which I am very grateful for, so I am going to visit China and Japan.”
It’s not yet known how Dev will be written out, but could it have something to do with his kids?
