THERE’S finally some good news for Michelle Connor in Coronation Street when she suspects she might be pregnant with Robert Preston’s baby next week.
The pair recently decided to try for a family together, despite Michelle being worried after giving birth to baby Ruairi prematurely two years ago.
Broody Robert – played by Tristan Gimmell – has been wondering if Michelle is really as keen to have a baby with him as she says and is delighted when she tells him that she wants to have a child as much as he does.
Robert’s distracted when Vicky Jefferies, mum of teen thug Tyler, calls in at the Bistro and begs him to give Tyler his job back.
The Bistro owner is torn but soon finds a solution and tells Vicky that while he can’t take Tyler back on, he’s found him a job at a mate’s café in Macclesfield.
He also tells vicar Billy Mayhew that he’d like to help out with the ex-offenders at the bail hostel but training them up for work.

But Robert’s mind is suddenly on other things when an excited but apprehensive Michelle tells him that she thinks she might be pregnant.
Viewers were devastated when Michelle – who’s played by Kym Marsh in the ITV soap – gave birth to her son with then-husband Steve McDonald at just 23-weeks.
Because the baby arrived before 24 weeks where premature babies are deemed viable, nothing was done to save him and he was classed as a late miscarriage.
Kym was praised for the heart-breaking scenes and the aftermath which saw Michelle in such grief that she considered taking her own life.
She was brought back from the brink by Robert Preston and went on to start a relationship with him after her marriage to Steve crumbled.
