In the video, Shiraz Khan can be seen standing outside his house in the Leeds suburb of Alwoodley.
Two men suddenly approach and spray a liquid substance into his eyes.
Shiraz tries to bravely fight them off by swinging a plastic bag.
His son stands beside him holding a black briefcase filled with cash.
The video ends before we see what happens next, but the man later said they stole the money.
He posted the clip of the attack – which happened on May 18 – to Facebook and wrote: “Attacked seconds after leaving my car to enter the house in broad daylight.
“At first I thought it was a prank, tried to fight them off but continuous spraying of CS gas (tear gas) had me in agony for at least 24 hours.
“Doctors say I’m lucky there is no damage to eyesight, thank God.”
An image posted by Shiraz after the attack shows how his eyes turned red and puffy-looking.
