Dan Walker issues apology to Carol Kirkwood after BBC Breakfast blunder

The Council leader appeared on screen but suffered technical problems and could not be heard clearly.

Interrupting him, the host said: “Sean I’m just going to ask you that question again I’m not hearing you terribly well. I’m not sure there’s anything you can do about it.

“But I’m just going to ask you one more time that question to see if we can hear you probably. How close are you at this point to a deal?”

However, the council leader could still not be heard clearly so Louise decided it was best to bring the interview to a close.

Cutting him off for a second time, she said: “I’ll tell you what I’m going to do we’re only hearing a couple of your words every now and then. So we’re going to leave that for the moment and hopefully come back to you.”

BBC Breakfast airs daily on BBC One at 6am.
