Video footage of the incident starts with a woman battering the stationary car with a shoe in a busy street in Newcastle.

Dressed in striped shorts and a black top and carrying a small pink handbag, the brunette smacks a high heel shoe against the windscreen repeatedly.

Both front doors of the car are open.

As the woman continues her assault, a man hastily runs into the front passenger seat.

The car can then be heard revving, before dramatically veering forwards and to the right, knocking the woman over.

Another man then runs at the car, which stops again, reverses and drives straight towards him.

The man rushes across the road but is knocked like a bowling pin into a lamppost.

A started member of the public can be heard shouting “Jesus Christ!” in the background.

The shocking incident happened just after 9pm on Saturday and is under investigation.
