THERE’S some good news for the Carter clan in EastEnders next week – makes a nice change – when Mick returns to Walford from Australia.
The loveable pub landlord, who’s played by Danny Dyer in the BBC One soap, has been down under for the past few weeks, spending time with his daughter Nancy and her new husband, Tamwar Masood.
Mick makes his return on Tina Carter’s birthday when her sister Shirley refuses to reveal what her present is.
Later in the day Tina and Linda Carter are both delighted when Shirley leads them down to the barrel store and surprises them with Mick.
Everyone is ecstatic to have him back on board and his return makes him and Linda – Kellie Bright – consider something about their relationship.
Mick’s been away from the Square since early March when he and Linda both flew to Sydney to see Nancy marry her long-term boyfriend.
But eyebrows were raised when Linda returned on her own a couple of weeks later, leaving Mick in Oz.
She revealed that her husband had realised how much he’d missed his daughter and had decided to spend some time bonding with her before flying back home.
Mick’s break was written into scripts to allow actor Danny time off to star in Harold Pinter play The Dumb Waiter in London’s West End.
Danny starred alongside Sherlock and The Hobbit star Martin Freeman in the play which was performed at The Harold Pinter Theatre in the capital.

Last week Danny teased his big comeback by posting a picture on Instagram of himself with co-stars Louise Lytton and Danielle Harold who play Ruby Allen and Lola Pearce.
He captioned his snap: “Loving my girls @louisanastrilytton @danielle_harold Walfords finest treacle’s.”
