EMMERDALE viewers spotted a huge blunder as Megan Macey got away with causing a car crash when she texted while driving.

Eric Pollard was sent flying into the air when Megan rammed into Jamie Tate’s car.

Fans were baffled why police ignored Megan’s smashed up car and blamed Jamie instead.

One said: “#Emmerdale are the police in emmerdale that stupid they couldn’t see it was Megan that caused the crash.”

Another said: “Where are the police investigating what happened? If they ask a few questions they’d find out it was her fault. Megan just walks home. #emmerdale.”

Someone else said: “Why do the #Emmerdale idiots think that Jamie was at fault when his car was shunted from behind by Megan who was checking her mobile when driving? Was she suddenly invisible?”

Despite the gaffe, viewers praised the soap for highlighting why people should next text and drive.

One said: “Let that be a warning, folks… Don’t text and drive!”

Another added: “Megan you don’t text and drive ! #Emmerdale.”

Megan – who’s played by Gaynor Faye – was rushing to meet her on-off lover Frank Clayton.

As the Emmerdale favourite grabs her phone to start writing out a message, she loses control of her vehicle and crashes into the car in front of her.

Viewers joked it was the most congestion they’d seen in Emmerdale[/caption]

The other car – which is being driven by  Jamie – is then shunted forwards by the impact and which sends Eric, who’s on his way to declare his love to Faith Dingle, flying.

Eric was rushed to hospital, but thinks he managed to escape with no serious injuries.

But when he later lost consciousness, it became clear that things are much more serious than anyone realised.
