REAL ZARAGOZA have made the shock signing of former Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa.
Announced on Friday, the Japanese international arrives in Spain’s Segunda Division on a two-year deal.
Kagawa arrives after Zaragoza coach Victor Fernandez teased a “shocking and exciting” signing earlier in the week.
And the Aragonese club have snapped him up despite having a year left on his Borussia Dortmund contract.
They proudly stated: “Real Zaragoza and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement about the transfer of footballer Shinji Kagawa.
“Kagawa is an offensive midfielder of proven quality, with extensive experience in world-class teams.”
Last season saw the 30-year-old fall out of favour at Borussia and head out on loan to Besiktas, proving he’s still got plenty of talent left with four goals and two assists in 14 outings.
Deadline day even saw Kagawa subject of fake social media rumours he had signed for Stoke.

This move marks the second time the midfielder has left Dortmund, after his 2012 exit to Manchester.
A strong first campaign under Sir Alex Ferguson gave way to a drop in form and eventual move back to the Bundesliga.
Nevertheless, Kagawa left England with a Premier League winners’ medal and made 57 appearances for United during two full seasons.
He can look forward to potentially making his debut when their Segunda season commences at home to Tenerife on Saturday, August 17.
