THIS year Cancer Research UK plans to make its Race For Life bigger and better than ever before.
Every year, through different fundraising events, it raises money for research to try to beat all 200 types of cancer affecting adults and children. Today we look at ways you can do your bit too, and we put lip masks to the test, so pucker up!

BOL’s Sweet Potato Falafel Tagine is lovely – spicy but not too heavy. It’s a complete meal containing sweet potato falafels, chickpeas, green lentils, sultanas, lemon and coriander.
It has two of your five-a-day, 10g of protein and 366kcal. Cancer Research UK gets 20p per pot. Buy any two for £5, see tesco.com.
If you’re looking for a fitness goal to work towards or just a fun way to exercise sign up to take part in the Race for Life[/caption]
MORE than 400 Race For Life events will take place across the UK from May to September and for the first time this year they are open to all ages. Entries for the 5k, 10k and Pretty Muddy events are now open.
You don’t have to race each other or beat your personal best. The idea is to have fun. See raceforlife.cancer researchuk.org/find-an-event.
RYVITA sponsors Race For Life and has launched two promotional packs to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Multi-grain and sesame crunch went on sale this week.
For every pack sold, Ryvita will donate 10p to the charity. £1.59. See tesco.com.

- Burt’s Bees Moisturising Lip Mask: (£4.99 each, feel-unique.com)
A SINGLE-use sheet mask for the lips made with natural ingredients, including almond oil and meadow foam seed oil. It deeply penetrates and ensures lips are nourished and softened. I liked the smell and lips felt more hydrated and looked better too.
- Hello Jo, Speak Up! Bubble lip mask: (£12.50, 30ml, feelunique.com)
GEL -to-foam formula made with antioxidants, caffeine and vitamins A and C to break down dead skin cells and leave lips renewed.
I felt a tingly feeling as it bubbled into a foam. My lips felt smoother. Although it does feel odd, this does the job of a scrub without the harshness.
- Kiehl’s Buttermask For Lips: (£22, 10g, kiehls.co.uk)

COCONUT oil, which is rich in fatty acids, nourishes and softens while wild mango butter smoothes and repairs dryness and flaking. It definitely felt like a luxury product and gave the best results.
Can be used as an overnight mask by applying before bed, but I also used during the day as a lip balm.
