Liam Priday watched his beloved Manchester United beat AC Milan at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday to notch up the tally.

Liam also got to be a mascot when one of the Italian side’s pulled out.

He said: “It’s been amazing visiting the different grounds.

“The best bits are getting to watch the football and walking out with the players when I am a mascot.”

Proud dad Chris said: “Though he walked out with an AC Milan player, he couldn’t have got much closer to his United heroes.

“That match and experience is definitely up there with the best.” Chris, 33, couldn’t say how many miles they have covered, but admitted spending “tens of thousands” of pounds on their hobby since Liam was two.

Their longest journey was to Carlisle, Cumbria – a 700-mile round trip from their home in Havant, Hants.

But he said his partner Dawn Slatter, also 33, was generally supportive.

He added: “She enjoys having some time to herself at the weekend but is of the opinion that we go to too many grounds.

“She’s probably right – it is a bit of an addiction.”
