PIN your hopes on Godolphin in the Vintage Stakes (2.25).
PINATUBO was one of the most impressive Royal Ascot winners and he can take another big step forward here. He scorched home in the Listed Chesham Stakes when seeing out this 7f trip in great style.
That built nicely on wins at Epsom and Wolverhampton. He can take another big step forward today. James Doyle’s mount had Lope Y Fernandez behind at the Queen’s track and there’s no reason why he should turn the form around.
Visinari may be a bigger danger. He created a major impression when winning a Newmarket maiden before going close in a Group 2 at the July Festival last time. He looked a little green there and has more to offer.
NICKLAUS can tee up a big win in Glorious Goodwood’s opener (1.50). William Haggas’s four-year-old is improving with every race and shapes as though this step up in trip will work wonders.
He likes to keep things simple from the front and those tactics often come off on this track, where there are more hard-luck stories than anywhere else. He has an excellent draw and can make the most of it.
Setting Sail is a worthy favourite after running a cracker in the John Smith’s Cup at York just over a fortnight ago. He got the run of the race there but finished well and looks the main danger.
Is there any point in backing against STRADIVARIUS in the Goodwood Cup at 3.35? It doesn’t appear so after he defended his Ascot Gold Cup crown last time.
He had Dee Ex Bee in second that day and he looks by far the biggest threat again given his strong course form.
But John Gosden’s brilliant stayer would need to be below par to lose his title. The race for second should be good as Cross Counter will prefer this trip to the 2m4f of the Ascot version he was fourth in last time.

HEY GAMAN can give Frankie another big win in the Lennox Stakes (3.00). The Italian was on board when James Tate’s star ran an absolute belter when second in a Curragh Group 2 ten days ago.
It took a top-level effort by Classic winner Romanised to see him off there with the rest well beaten.
He’s done nothing but improve this season with big successes at Longchamp and Leicester before heading to Ireland. The Tate horses are in sparkling form and it will take a huge effort to stop this son of New Approach.

MAYGOLD (4.45) blew her rivals out of the water when winning at Salisbury and loves this track too.
She has winning form here over the trip and trainer Ed Walker is going through something of a purple patch at the moment. She should be right there again.
Muthmir has a Group 2 win to his name here and ran well enough dropped into a handicap at Ascot last time. He met trouble in running and will go close if getting better luck.
Count Otto skipped in at Epsom last time and can’t be discounted against this stronger opposition.
