GAME Of Thrones fans are predicting that Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth will die in the Battle of Winterfell next week.
The show’s most recent teaser images show the Kingslayer [Nikolaj Coster-Waldau] bracing for battle under the command of Brienne, played by Gwendoline Christie.
The unlikely friends shared a sweet moment during last week’s episode when Jaime repaid Brienne by officially making her a Knight – something that she has always dreamed of.
But, with the Night King and his huge army of White Walkers surrounding Winterfell, the warriors look terrified as they prepare to fight – but will it be to their deaths?
Some fans have taken to Twitter to share their theories as to why show bosses will likely kill off the popular characters.
One fan said: “Everyone is thinking that #Brienne will die because she had completed her arc with becoming a knight. But the more probable death is Jaime‘s who’s completed his arc by finally doing something nice for Brienne. It’ll be perfect if he dies protecting #Winterfell too.”
While another theorised: “Okay so based on the interactions and a bunch of character arcs closing last week, my predictions for deaths: Either Jaime or Brienne will die fighting together (one not both) Grey Worm or Missandei dies Gendry dies And at LEAST one other huge character”
And a third commented: “it is KILLING me that jaime knew north was effectively a death sentence and decided he wanted to spend the life he had left at brienne’s side. he decided he wanted to die next to her.”
A fourth simply predicted: “* Jaime will die valiantly defending brienne, arya will salvage his face & use it to kill cersei”
Earlier this week, a new fan theory claimed that Game Of Thrones has already revealed which characters will die in the upcoming Battle of Winterfell.
One of the most seemingly random moments from episode two was when Podrick started to sing, giving a melancholy performance of Jenny’s Song, which details a woman who has lost everybody that she loves and is surrounded by ghosts.
The meaning behind the sombre lyrics of the song has already been closely analysed by fans, but now Yahoo Movies have suggested that we should actually be paying more attention to the montage of characters that were shown while Pod was singing.
A mish-mash of both minor and major characters preparing themselves for the impending battle focused on Gilly, Samwell Tarly, and baby Sam, Theon and Sansa, Gendry and Arya, Grey Worm and Missandei, and Jorah on his own.

The theory claims that one character from each snippet will lose their life in next week’s epic battle, which will see the living take on the Night King and his evil army of the dead.
Adding weight to the suggestion, it appears that each of those clips features a character that has completed their Game of Thrones journey in some way and has nothing left to offer the fast-ending story.
It was previously revealed that next week’s episode of Game of Thrones will be the show’s longest ever instalment at 82 minutes – and with that many potential deaths to get through, that isn’t very surprising.
