GAME of Thrones fans have declared series 8 episode 3 as the most “bad ass” show in TV history as Arya Stark finally slayed the Night King.

After years of build-up, pressure had mounted on the highly-anticipated scene – but fans were far from disappointed.

It was fiesty Arya who came to the rescue of brother Bran and the rest of humanity when she plunged a dagger into the Night King.

It looked bleak in the burning ancestral home of House Stark as the Army of the Dead triumphed over the living.

But after some words of encouragement from Melisandre atfer being reunited for the first time since series three, the red priestess said: “What do we say to the God of Death?”

Viewers thought Arya was about to be killed by the Night King

Arya replied: “Not today”.

She then set her sights on killing the ice-eyed monstor who caught Arya by the throat in mid-air.

Despite fears he was about to crush Arya to death, she stabbed him through the abdomen.

One fan erupted: “HOLY F*** THAT WAS THE BEST MOST BAD ASS EPISODE IN TELEVISION HISTORY!!!

“IM LEGIT STILL STANDING UP BECAUSE THAT WAS F***ING AMAZING. ARYA IS THAT B****!! #GOT.”

The record-length episode unfolded over 1 hour and 22 minutes.

And while it ended knowing the Army of the Dead had been defeated, members of the Seven Kingdoms  didn’t escape loss.

In total there were six deaths, including The Night King: Lyanna Mormont, Theon, Jorah Mormont, Melisandre, Beric Dondarrion and Dolorous Edd.

Game of Thrones continues every Monday at 2am.

And episode four can be watched in the UK on Sky Atlantic from 2am until 3.30pm on Monday, May 6.
