Game Of Thrones’ Kit Harington breaks down in tears in new footage on his last day on show set – days before heading to rehab

KIT Harington was filmed breaking down in tears on his last day on set for Game of Thrones ahead of entering rehab.

Yesterday, it was revealed that the 32-year-old actor had entered a luxury health retreat after struggling to cope with the hit fantasy series coming to an end.

Kit broke down in tears after filming his final scene

In scenes that aired in the show’s two-hour making-of documentary, Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, Kit can be seen sobbing as he thanks the cast and crew for their work and support over the years.

Choking back tears after wrapping his last scene as Jon Snow, the actor told the group: “I feel like my heart is breaking, I love this show more than anything.

“It has never been a job for me, it has been my life and this will always be the greatest thing I will ever do and be a part of.

“You have all been my family and I love you for it, thank you so much.”

The star said that he loved Game of Thrones ‘more than anything’

The heartfelt speech came after showrunner DB Weiss paid tribute to the star for his decade on Thrones.

He said to Kit: “Ten years ago you walked into Nina Gold’s office… And here we are now.

“You’re watch has ended and it has been a hell of a watch for us, and these people, and so many.

“Thank you for being Jon Snow, and thank you – more than that – for being you.”

Elsewhere in the documentary, Kit was shown breaking down during the table read for the show’s final episode.

Meanwhile, Page Six reported that the British actor checked into a luxury Prive-Swiss health retreat in Connecticut nearly a month ago.

A source told the publication: “The end of GoT really hit Kit hard.

“He realised ‘this is it — this is the end’, it was something they had all worked so hard on for so many years. He had a moment of, what next?

“He’s in the clinic predominantly for stress and exhaustion and also alcohol.

“His wife Rose [Leslie] is being extremely supportive. Everyone close to him really wanted him to get some rest. Right now, he just needs peace and quiet.”

On the day that the Game of Thrones’ finale aired, Kit was seen in a bookshop close to the private facility, where he is allowed to come and go.

He told staff at the RJ Julia Booksellers in Madison at the time that he was on holiday.

A representative for Kit confirmed to The Sun Online that he had checked into rehab, saying: “Kit has decided to utilise this break in his schedule as an opportunity to spend some time at a wellness retreat to work on some personal issues.”

It has been said that the star has been undergoing psychological coaching, practising mindful meditation and cognitive behavioural therapy while at the facility.

Kit previously admitted that filming the final series of Game of Thrones left him feeling “frayed” and “vulnerable”, telling Variety at the time: “It wasn’t a very good time in my life. I felt I had to feel that I was the most fortunate person in the world, when actually, I felt very vulnerable.

“I had a shaky time in my life around there — like, I think a lot of people do in their 20s.

“That was a time when I started therapy, and started talking to people. I had felt very unsafe, and I wasn’t talking to anyone.

“I had to feel very grateful for what I have, but I felt incredibly concerned about whether I could even f****** act.

“You get people shouting at you on the street, ‘Are you dead?’ At the same time you have to have this appearance.

“All of your neuroses — and I’m as neurotic as any actor — get heightened with that level of focus.”
