Snoop Dogg was branded a disgrace after he posted the shocking image to Instagram.
The U.S rapper, 47, uploaded pictures of himself and Gascoigne in their younger days along with side images of what the pair looked like today.
One of the snaps, taken in 2014 just before Gazza was admitted to hospital following a heavy drinking session, was captioned “alcohol abuse”.
Opposite the Gascoigne image were snaps of Snoop Dogg himself aged 20 and 47 captioned “marijuana”.
Former Spurs and Rangers favourite Gascoigne has hit back, however, appearing unfazed by the Nuthin’ but a G Thang singer’s jibe.
In a tweet, he wrote: “Just back from doing charity work in Spain then just when U thought it was safe2get out of the water f****** snoop dog turns up FFS SHANE [his what’s he snooping about for.”
He then followed with a stream of emojis, including a laughing face, a thumbs up and a heart symbol, before signing off “from GAZZA x”.
Gazza also posted to Twitter an image of an inspirational quote – stressing the importance of mutual respect and good manners next to an image of cartoon character Snoopy — in what appeared to be a swipe at the rapper.

It remains unclear if Snoop Dogg knows who Gazza is or was aware of the midfielder’s prolonged battle with the booze.
That didn’t stop the backlash, however, as fans of Gascoigne piled in to blast the American singer for the “disrespectful” post.
One fan wrote: “Snoop Dogg disrespecting Paul Gascoigne considering he suffered with alcoholism and other issues. F****** disgrace.”
Another added: “Wow I can’t believe what #SnoopDogg tweeted about Paul Gascoigne when he has an illness and Snoop chooses to be a stoner and not for medical reasons.”
Controversial broadcaster and Good Morning host Pier Morgan also became embroiled in the row.
He wrote on Twitter: “This is nasty. Shame on you Snoop”
Earlier this week Gascoigne caused a stir when he was filmed singing “f**k the Pope and the IRA” in a Benidorm bar during his £18-a-ticket singalong party.
Fans flocked to see the star perform at the Ibrox Bar in the Costa Blanca Spanish resort on Saturday where he was filmed joining in the foul-mouthed cha
