Is Paul Rudd in the new Ghostbusters movie?
The Marvel actor is so far playing an undisclosed role, but we do know he is confirmed to be in the film.
In a video posted to the Ghostbuster twitter account, Rudd could be heard narrating as fans took pictures of the firehouse made famous by the film.
He said: “You see, this is what happens, every day, people coming out to take pictures of this magnificent building, and really, can you blame them?
“It’s such an epic film. I love it, I’m a fan.
“When I heard that Jason Reitman was going to be doing a new version in the fall, my agent called up and said:
“‘‘Hey, Jason, we hear there’s a part of a young – semi-young – strapping man that needs to be cast, who you gonna call?’
“When I heard they were going call me… well, as you can imagine, I nearly slimed myself.
“I can’t wait to join the cast this fall for Ghostbusters.”
He added jokingly: “In fact, I’m sliming myself right now.”
Speaking about the casting, Reitman said: “I’ve been wanting to work with Paul Rudd since my short film opened for Wet Hot American Summer at Sundance.
“I’m thrilled he’ll be joining this new chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe.”
There are almost no details released about the upcoming sequel.
Variety reported insiders said: “the story will be an extension of the original “Ghostbusters” and focus on a single mom and her family.
“It’s unknown how exactly it connects to the original Ghostbusters series.
“Sigourney Weaver is also rumoured to return as Dana Barrett.”
The single mom will reportedly be played by Carrie Coon with Finn Wolfhard playing the son.
Ghostbusters will likely be out sometime in the summer of 2020.
