Scotland’s First Minister announced during an evening coronavirus press briefing that new measures would be implemented in Glasgow from midnight. The measures include residents no longer being able to host someone from another household in their home.

Ms Sturgeon said: “I can therefore confirm these evening that we have decided to take the following action.

“From midnight tonight if you live in the city of Glasgow you should not host people from other households in your home and you should not visit somebody else’s home no matter where that is.

“The only exception to that in emergencies or to provide care to a vulnerable person relates to the extended households that were established during lockdown.

“Secondly if any member of your household grouping of a confirmed positive case of COVID then we are now asking the whole household to self-isolate for fourteen days.”
