A NAN has become a viral sensation after she was caught on camera effing and blinding when her family bought her a wheelchair.
A furious Dorothy Butler told her family they could “shove that where the sun don’t shine” when she unwrapped what was meant to be a special 85th birthday present.
Her relatives gathered in her house in Merthyr, Wales, to surprise her with a huge cardboard box wrapped in pink wrapping paper.
But when Dorothy ripped open the gift she wasn’t pleased with the big blue wheelchair that she found inside.
She said: “I hope you’ve got some bugger else in mind for that because you can shove that where the bloody sun don’t shine.”
The family were left in stitches at the pensioner’s seething reaction, but Dorothy’s rant wasn’t done there.
She continued: “It’s bloody marvellous, now p*** off all of you.
“I don’t want no wheelchair – whoever it’s for!
“I’ve never seen anything like it in my bloody life – you cheeky lot of cows.
“I don’t want a p***ing wheelchair!”
I got bad legs, but I’m not going in no bloody wheelchair!
Her loved ones attempted to explain that it would help with the pain in her knees, but Dorothy was adamant that she didn’t need the help.
She said: “I got bad legs, but I’m not going in no bloody wheelchair!”
Gareth Cross, 32 captured his gran’s reaction and shared it on social media, where it’s since gone viral.
The clip has transformed Dorothy into an unlikely internet celeb, as it’s received more than 2,500 likes, 2,000 comments, 7,000 shares and a staggering 424,000 views since it was posted on Friday.
Gareth said: “She’s been suffering quite a bit with a bad back and knees for a few months now.
“Because of her health, my mother has to take my her to have an injection in her knees – which means she can’t walk for 36-48 hours afterwards.”
The family knew that the gift could backfire and teamed up to give it to her just in case.
He added: “Our family don’t really do serious gifts anyway, we always have a laugh and a joke.
“We all went up together as a family to give it to her, because we knew what her reaction would be.
“Like a ‘strength in numbers’ sort of thing.
“So, we gave her the usual flowers, earrings and chocolates – then we gave her the wheelchair.
“And… well, you can see her reaction in the video.
“She’s a very strong-willed woman, but we never expected that reaction.
“We didn’t think it would be that funny.”
Dorothy has come to terms with her growing fame, and has even started to come round to the idea of using the wheelchair.
