Great British Bake Off’s Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith have an Alice In Wonderland tea party as the show returns this month

IT’s Alice in Bun-derland as Channel 4 favourite The Great British Bake Off goes down the rabbit hole and gets a fairytale makeover.

In our exclusive picture presenter Noel Fielding, 46, channels the Mad Hatter while pint-sized co-host Sandi Toksvig, 61, steps into the role of the Dormouse as the clan enjoy a tea party.

Telly judges Prue Leith, 79, and Paul Hollywood, 53, tuck in to the huge feast ahead of the show’s return this month.

Prue replaced Mary Berry when she joined the TV programme in March, 2017, and the 79-year-old has proved popular with viewers as have Noel and Sandi who replaced Mel and Sue.

Last year the show saw Rahul Mandal bake to victory, while Ruby Bhogal and Kim-Joy Hewlett were runners up.

The new series is no doubt a welcome distraction for Paul who has been hitting headlines following the break down of his relationship with Summer Monteys-Fullam.

The Sun previously revealed that Paul’s Bake Off co-stars and producers had been predicting for months that their romance was doomed — with some even suggesting a sweepstake on how long it would be before she chucked him.

Sources say his troubled love life has long been the talk backstage of the Channel 4 baking contest. One said: “Everyone could see this coming a mile off — except Paul.

“It’s embarrassing for him. His colleagues have said for a while that his relationship with Summer was doomed.”

They began dating in 2017 and we revealed a couple of weekends ago how she dumped him when he asked her to sign a gagging order.

When she refused, he raged: “Why don’t you f*** off back on the horse you rode in on.”

Summer has now said she is suing Paul over what she claims are “highly defamatory statements”.
