A GRIEVING dad has been told he cannot have a Spider-Man headstone for his late son unless he gets permission from comics giant Marvel.

Ollie Jones died aged four last year from genetic disorder leukodystrophy, which affects the brain and nervous system.

His family hoped to mark his grave with his favourite superhero — but council officials say it will breach copyright laws without Marvel’s say so.

Dad Lloyd, 36, said: “At the moment, I go to his grave and see flowers. It would be nice to have something that really reminds me of him.”

Ollie’s funeral procession in Maidstone, Kent, was led by someone dressed as Spider-Man and the character was on his coffin, too.

Uncle Jason, 37, added: “Spider-Man was his life. He loved it so much.” Marvel had not responded to requests for comment.
