The woman accused Esquire of sexually assaulting and physically abusing her multiple times during the ordeal.
According to Turlock Police Department, the woman told detectives that Esquire was high on drugs and was armed with a gun.
She also said the abuse went on between 24 and 48 hours, the Modesto Bee reported.
The Turlock Police Department said: “Upon arrival at the location, officers ensured that the victim was safe and provided for her care and wellbeing.
“The victim was able to provide officers with the name of the suspect and his last known location.
“She advised officers that Mr. Esquire was in possession of a handgun and under the influence of narcotics.”
The alleged victim reportedly knew him but the nature of their relationship is not clear.
Police summoned a SWAT team from a nearby city and used a PA system to communicate with Esquire, who was holed up inside his apartment and refusing to leave.
