UK motorists could land a hefty fine and driving ban if they are caught having sex in their car. A new report by Select Car Leasing has revealed the hotspots for having sex while driving across Britain. Swansea topped this list as the car sex capital in Britain with a third of motorist admitting to having a romp in the car. Shockingly, 11 per cent of drivers in the city admitted to undertaking a sex act on the roads while driving.
Following Swansea was Southampton, Worcester, Chelmsford, and Liverpool with all over a quarter of drivers admitting to it.
Motorists could bland a careless driving charge for performing a sex act while on the roads.
Careless driving carries a £100 fine and three penalty points but it can increase to a maximum £2,5000 and nine points.
However, if you were charged for dangerous driving then this could rise up to £5,000.
James O’Malley, motoring expert at Select Car Leasing, said: “While having sex in a public place is not illegal in itself, the dangers of doing it in your car come from being spotted by members of the public.
“If caught you could be charged with public exposure, indecent exposure of gross indecency – which could result in a fine or if you’re a repeat offender, possible jail time.
“Like any activity that takes a driver’s attention off of the road, having sexual relations with someone while you’re driving can be a danger to yourself, your passengers and other drivers.
“So many people seem to have admitted to getting frisky in their car’s, and while it may not be a new phenomenon, the current laws in place seem like a big risk for a quick fumble.”
