How old is Anneka Rice now? Treasure Hunt star age after Strictly rumours mount

Anneka Rice is one of the first three Strictly Come Dancing contestants to have been ‘revealed’ thanks to an on air mistake.

Entertainment reporter Iain Lee, 46, dropped a huge hint about who these celebrities could be today on Good Morning Britain.

Iain stated rumoured celebrities Sam, Jamie and Anneka Rice would be the first three contestants revealed on The One Show later today.

However, there has been no official confirmation and the news to be announced on The One Show tonight.

How old is Anneka Rice?

Anneka is now 60 years old, having been born in October 1958.

The Welsh woman went into media after school, working at the BBC as a trainee.

She moved to Hong Kong age 19 to present the news on a English language programme, before moving back to the UK after three years and working as a secretary.

However, her real claim to fame came working on Treasure Hunt with Channel 4. The programme saw guests taking part in a game show, solving clues for a cash prize.

Her performance in the show saw the blonde presented with a “Rear of the Year” award.

Her other TV credits include hosting Children in Need in 1987 and Challenge Anneka in 1989.

She has presented Holiday for BBC One and Dinner Doctors on Five.

Anneka was married to theatre professional Nick Allott and the couple had two sons.

She went on to marry TV executive Tom Gutteridge and the pair had a son in 1997. However, they split six months later.

She is currently in a relationship with writer Simon Bell. Anneka quit TV after 1994 and Strictly would mark her return to the small screen.

It was reported last week Anneka could be one of the famous faces taking to the dance floor after the veteran TV presenter recently celebrated her 40-year career in the industry.

A source told The Sun: “Strictly believe they’ve made a top signing in Anneka. She’s a TV institution and a familiar face to viewers we’ll be rooting for her.

“Anneka is in great shape and can’t wait to strut her stuff,” the source continued.

Similarly, a TV insider also reportedly told the publication the BBC dance show was doing a “U-turn” by signing up Made In Chelsea star Jamie.

“It is a surprising U-turn from the BBC and Strictly,” the source said.
