Mate 20 Pro was unwrapped by Huawei in October last year and was notable for the diverse camera system it brought to the table in addition to its hefty battery and great design.
Mate 20 Pro boasts great hardware, but it also touts capable software, too.
The handset was the first device to launch running Android 9 Pie with Huawei’s own EMUI 9 skin running on top of it.
Mate 20 Pro’s operating system is snappy, intuitive and offers a deluge of functionality.
However, it had previously been unclear if the Huawei handset would receive Android Q later this year due to an impending software block from Google.
But, the Chinese tech powerhouse recently confirmed its Mate 20 Pro handset has already been granted “approval” to receive Google’s latest and greatest operating system.
Huawei said: “We are confident that our most popular devices, including the P30 series, will be able to access Android Q.
“We have been working with third parties for many months to ensure devices will be able to receive Android Q updates.
“Technical preparations and testing has already begun for over 17 devices. In fact our Mate 20 Pro has already been given approval to receive Android Q as and when it is released by Google.”
The news surrounding Android Q comes amid an incredible new deal for the Mate 20 Pro from Three Mobile.
The UK network is selling the Mate 20 Pro through a tantalising contract with unlimited data, unlimited minutes and unlimited texts.
The plan costs £44 per month and requires an upfront charge of £49 to be paid, too.
Such a monthly figure is said by Three Mobile to save customers a total of £360 by providing unlimited data for the price of 30GB.
The plan in question means Android fans will be free to stream music, video and more as much as they like without incurring additional charges.
